Dear Supporters of Shalem,
We hope you are all enjoying your summer vacation.
We continue to receive equipment requests from army units stationed on both the Northern border and Gaza. While the war has become “old news” for some, it is unfortunately a daily reality for both the soldiers and the hundreds of thousands that have been evicted from their homes.
Below is a picture of a soldier in the Hapak Machat unit in Gaza who just received one of the shoes we acquired with your support, they were hand-delivered to him into the Gaza Strip. These shoes offer much more support than standard issues which is extra important for older soldiers.
I’m happy to report that we are in the final stages of negotiating discounted prices for tactical shoes. This allows us to acquire in Israel for a similar price to Europe, making the delivery easier.
However, there will be a minimum amount restriction, so we need to buy in bulk.
We look to you, our trusted partners, to continue supporting our efforts via your donations. Every cent counts and will go directly to where it’s needed most.
Some of our current open requests:
- Shoes for both Yahalom and various infantry units.
- Holsters for “Oketz", the canine infantry unit, they are involved in the most complicated situations in Gaza.
- Helmets for young infantry soldiers stationed in the north.
- Clip on flashlights for medical teams, specifically for Yahalom.
